lyrics
"Let evil swiftly befall those who have wrongly condemned us - God will avenge us"
King Philip:
I will make you admit
Your guilt of heresy
De Molay:
I have never denied the Christ
Never trampled the cross
King Philip:
The inquisitors have arrived
And pain will extract the truth
De Molay:
By schemes and deceit you rule!
The last templar falls
And the bells will toll
But you'll hear his voice
Cursing enemies of God
Let the fire burn
It will come your turn
May your bloodline end
Death will follow your descent
King Philip:
After seven years you avowed
But now you have retracted your sins
De Molay:
My only sin is lies
Against my fellow knights
I only wanted relief
But on the scaffold I will show no fear
King Philip:
So, let it be!
The last templar falls
And the bells will toll
But you'll hear his voice
Cursing enemies of God
Let the fire burn
It will come your turn
May your bloodline end
Death will follow your descent
De Molay:
So here I stand
Before the walls of Notre Dame
The stake awaits me
But I will bear my torment with composure
The life offered me on infamous terms
I abandon without regret
King Philip:
Light up the pile!
I will see him burn
De Molay:
My death will be slow
And you'll hear my curse
Within a year you will fall
Both king and pope!
The last templar falls
And the bells will toll
But you'll hear his voice
Cursing enemies of God
Let the fire burn
It will come your turn
May your bloodline end
Death will follow your descent

EVANGELIST has grabbed me like no other band in the past few years. While I am honestly a late-comer to the epic doom metal genre, this band tops the list for great clean, non-fuzzy, epic doom metal that shakes your bones and sears your soul. Soulful vocals, heavier than heavy rhythms, and blistering lead guitars. I'm loving what I'm hearing, and I'm hoping EVANGELIST is a long-lived band because I'm now a fan for life! Hoyt Parris
